Angie Donat of Covington passed away January 10, 2017, at 44 years of age. Having been diagnosed with leukemia at just 2 ½ years of age, she was a survivor for more than 30 years because she was a fighter. Angie accepted Christ as her Savior in 1983 and was a member of White Oaks Baptist Church in Dallas, GA. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. Angie was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Susie Pitts and Maggie Gault.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Blanca Smart; daughters, Haydie Smart, Sierra Sellers; grandchildren, Mariah Smart, Gael Smart, Harmony Smart, Cortez Rachel; parents, Robert (Buddy) Gault, Dale and Ronnie Griffith; brother, Billy Underwood; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Funeral Service for Angie will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington, with Pastor Charles Roper officiating. Interment will follow in Callie Fuller Baptist Church Cemetery, 2690 GA-212, in Monticello. Friends may visit with the family Thursday, January 12, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a love offering be made to help with funeral expenses.
