William (Bill) Pooser of Covington, passed away January 17, 2017, at the age of 92. Mr. Pooser proudly served his country in the Navy during WW II. As a faithful servant of the Lord, he attended several churches during his lifetime, but was currently a member of Greater Love Baptist Church. Mr. Pooser's greatest mission in life was not to have material things, but to reach others through his love for Christ. When he reached Heaven, we know he was welcomed with 'well done my good and faithful servant'. Mr. Pooser will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, and faithful friend. He was preceded in death by his son, William (Billy) Arthur Pooser, III: parents, William Arthur, Sr., and Violia Pooser; and brother, Clyde Pooser.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Joy and Steve Bishop, Ann Ammons, all of Covington; grandchildren, Jessica and Bobby Jacques, Stephen Bishop, all of Covington; great- grandchildren, Jackson and Madyson Mahaffey, Summer Jacques; former wife and her husband, Carol and Bobby Farmer; friends Jeff and Cheryl Larson, Pastor Matt Murphy; several nieces and nephews and special friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Pooser will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017, 3:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Matt Murphy officiating and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. Friends may visit with his family at the funeral home, Thursday, January 19, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
