Kathryn Echols of Conyers passed away December 16, 2013 at Westbury Health & Rehab in Conyers. She was 91 years of age at the time of her death. Ms. Echols loved listening to gospel music and especially enjoyed attending gospel music concerts. She volunteered for Mothers' Day Out at her church and was involved with many other church activities. Ms. Echols was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Castleberry; son, James Echols; granddaughter, Tonya Echols; parents, Leonard and Nora (Farmer) Clark; and several siblings.
Survivors include her son and daughters-in-law, Mike and Carlene Echols of Covington, Geraldine Echols of Riverdale; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Collins of Cartersville; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Ms. Echols will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013, 3:00 PM, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Rev. Tony Howeth officiating. A private interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Flowers are accepted or memorial donations may be made to Newton Baptist Church, 720 Jack Neely Road, Covington, Georgia 30016.
