Theron Mitchell, of Conyers, passed away December 24, 2013, at the age of 85. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed attending Journey Baptist Church, eating out, watching football and baseball, and riding around on dirt roads. He was preceded in death by his son, Keith Mitchell; parents, Willie and Lucy (Ricks) Mitchell, sister, Inez Smith; brothers, Dewey Mitchell, Howard Mitchell, Leon Mitchell, Jack Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mitchell of Conyers; son and daughter-in-law, Morris and Jenny Mitchell of Monroe; grandchildren, Samuel Mitchell, Holly Mitchell, Jordan Mitchell; sisters and brother-in-law, Lucille Hunt of Conyers, Agnes Gaultney of Covington, Ann and Tom Chase also of Conyers; brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Judy Mitchell of Monticello, Larry and Ruth Mitchell of Oxford; several nieces and nephews
Funeral Services for Mr. Mitchell will be held Friday, December 27, 2013, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access, in Covington, with Pastor Keith Everett and Pastor Terry Brock officiating, and interment following in Green Meadows Memorial Gardens, in Conyers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, December 26, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Journey Baptist Church, 1160 Kinnett Road, Covington, Georgia, 30016, 678-342-0108.
