Eula Virginia Watkins of Covington, passed away November 26, 2013, at the age of 91. Mrs. Watkins was of the Baptist faith. She was a talented artist, loved painting, and enjoyed working in her garden. She was a faithful Christian with a kind heart and gentle spirit, who never spoke a negative word about anything. Mrs. Watkins loved her family dearly, and was a dedicated wife and mother for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry T. Watkins; daughters, Sheryl Larry, Joyce G. Sanford; grandson, Jeffrey A. Sanford; and her parents, George C. and Mary L. (Walker) Darby.
Survivors include her sister, Blondine Bennett of Conyers; grandchildren, Sandra and David Worthey of Covington, Perry and Sheila Sanford, Tammy and Gene Stanton, all of Madison; great-grandchildren, Leah and Jarad Robinson of Oxford, Chris and Ashley Worthey of Between, GA, Bobby and Laurie Sanford of French Gulch, CA, Tiffany and Brannon Oakes of Eatonton, Brandi and Richard Thompson of Madison, Stacy and Kevin Kelley of Stockbridge; great-great-grandchildren, Malakai Oakes, Dylan Robinson, Noah Oakes, Mason Worthey, Easton Worthey, Oaklyn Thompson; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Watkins will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013, 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Tony Howeth officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, two hours prior to the service, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
