Gene Walters, 70, of Conyers, passed away March 5, 2014. As owner of Gene Walters Attorney at Law, in Lithonia, he practiced law for more than 40 years, and also owned several restaurants in the Lithonia area. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, studying history, and assisting with the Wounded Warrior Project and Toys for Tots. Gene was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother who loved spending time with his family – especially his grandson, Dayton. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Destyne Walters; son, Christopher Glass; parents, T. Scott Walters, Sr., and Juanita (Hudson) Walters; brother, Tommy Walters, Jr.; and his sister, Dr. Marjane Jensen.
Survivors include his wife, Candy Lynn Glass Walters; daughter-in-law, Nicole Glass; grandchildren, Dayton Glass, Cadence Glass, all of Conyers; sister, Judy Walters of Lawrenceville; niece, Rebecca Walters; grand-niece, Kara Walters, both of Annandale, NJ; step-mother, Martha Walters of Flowery Branch; and several extended family members.
Funeral Services for Gene will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
