John C. Cheek, Jr. (Johnny), of Conyers, passed away March 8, 2014, at the age of 66. He was a devoted husband, daddy, brother, uncle and friend to many. He loved working with numbers as a Certified Public Accountant and enjoyed going to the mountains and watching Kentucky Basketball. He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. Mr. Cheek was preceded in death by his parents, John Clyde Cheek, Sr. and Doris (Wilhoite) Cheek.
Survivors include his loving wife, Diane Cheek of Conyers; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Matthew Bullock also of Conyers; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Mel Tivett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Cheryl Cheek, David and Margaret Cheek, all of Frankfort, KY, Russell and Tonie Cheek of Gulf Breeze, FL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Doris Wells of Narvon, PA, Richard and Brenda Faye Wells of Smyrna, Clarence Wells of Oxford; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Flora and Jimmy Glisson of Eustis, FL, Quntiss Johnson of Covington, Mary and Phil Pace of Conyers; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Cheek will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Dr. Larry Cheek and Rev. Jason Johnson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Monday, March 10, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
