James Thomas “Tommy” Gardner, age 78, of Covington, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. Mr. Gardner was a union carpenter by trade, and he enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR. He cherished his family, and loved taking care of his sons.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie M. Gardner; sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas Gardner and Cris Locke of Orange City, FL, Ronald Eugene Gardner, James Joseph Gardner, both of Conyers; step-daughter, Tabitha Mills and her husband, Greg, of Covington; step-son, Randy Thomas of McDonough; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Gardner will be held Friday, March 14, 2014, 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Rev. David Marshall officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 13, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM.
