Teresa Jane Byrd of Covington, passed away March 3, 2014, at the age of 63. She loved visiting and keeping in touch with her family and friends. In addition, she enjoyed sewing, crafts and traveling. Teresa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many, and will be missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl, Sr., and Bobbie (Lively) Brashears.
Survivors include her daughters, Deanna Lynn Byrd and Todd Fortson of Madison, AL, Candience Leigh Tipton of Gwinnett County; sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Cherrail Byrd of Covington, Jessie and Alicia Byrd of Conyers; grandchildren, Drake Puckett, Leela Byrd, JR Byrd; 3 other grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Needham of Knoxville, TN, Carlene and Max Wilburn of Lenoir City, TN, Ethel Whitton of Knoxville, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, John Brashears, Charles Brashears, Carl James, Jr., and Joyce Brashears, William G. and Donna Brashears, all of Knoxville, TN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Teresa will be held Saturday, March 8, 2014, 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Rev. Lamar Ford officiating, and interment following in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, in Duluth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, March 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Flowers are accepted, or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, GA 30606.
